eBay Up for auction is this RARE BEAUTIFUL 1800’s Victorian Mourning Memento in 14 kt Yellow Gold with the blonde hair throughout the round bezel glass and which makes this one even more RARE and COLLECTIBLE is due to not only is it a Victorian Mourning piece, it was beautifully done also with small dried flowers on both sides and on one side there is a butterfly that is made from butterfly wings,felt, and feathers. One the other side there are more small dried flowers and a bird sitting on a branch of a dried flower and has a small black bead for his eye and he looks to be made of felt & feathers. I have NEVER seen another Mourning Memento like this one, and someone took a great deal of time and effort to make this beautiful piece to Mourn his/her loved one. This one could be made into a pendant, but I believe this one was just to keep in your pocket (Not really sure about that??) It will be wrapped securely and will be insured as well. I had it appraised (because I couldn’t find anything even similar to it) from a auction house in New York and the Appraiser said these were iconic during the Victorian era and this one was done around 1870-1885 and RARE due to the details and artwork on both sides. She said these were made with love and a made to be a wearable shrine made from the hair of a loved one that has passed away. The hair and feather & Flower artwork is surrounded by a simple round 14 kt. Yellow Gold that has a small screw set with bezel glass on each side. She also told me that it was a pendant??? She appraised this piece of Victorian Memento at $1,500.00 to $2,000.00, Due to the artwork and details that are usually lacking in most Mourning Art.
