FINE ANTIQUE SMALL 2 ½” INCH LONG MINIATURE CORKSCREW FINE ANTIQUE SMALL 2 ½” INCH LONG MINIATURE CORKSCREW FINE ANTIQUE SMALL 2 ½” INCH LONG MINIATURE CORKSCREW HARD TO FIND SALESMAN SAMPLE & USED FOR MEDICINE BOTTLES This is a small, scarce size Miniature Antique handmade 19th Century corkscrew, in fine condition. These pieces are handmade, and I have seen small differences in the overall size, the top lathe turned handles, ring attachments, et al. This piece is only 2 1/2″ long from the corkscrew tip to the top of the meatal screw, and 2 7/8″ long to the top of the tiny split ring attachment and weighs a mere .4 of an ounce or 13 grams. This piece is a perfectly proportioned miniature; and was sold as a salesman’s sample of the larger sized, identical corkscrew. This piece could also have been used as a corkscrew for tiny Victorian perfume or medicine bottles. The finely carved handle is about 1 116″ long x 5/16″ in diameter with 10 ridges created on a tiny lathe. The small turned handle shows slight naturally occurring darkening from natural aging and a small, hard to notice chip on the back bottom edge of the handle adjacent to the spring. The top handle is spring loaded, and the corkscrew shaft can be moved up and down inside the frame and has a very strong tension from the spring. The center corkscrew and post are made of nickel-plated steel with light aged patina. The frame is made from nickel plated brass, shows fine ribbing on the top and bottom edges, and the corkscrew has a full tip. These are hard to find, and especially in fine condition overall, with little wear from use; with a light, even aged patina. This would be perfect for any Corkscrew collector, liqueur, spirits, medicine, perfume, miniature bottle, miniature, smalls, Victorian collection, or display; works fine, and could still be used today.
