Share the magic! ****** Not sure who manufacturered these hot rods, but they are very nice, and remind me of the one I got way back in the 1970s — with gems that are inset, (not like many current cheap Hot Rods where the gems are flat backed and simply stuck on the rod!) I do not think it they are from the “good old days” but the quality is definitely comparable to the Hot Rods in the 1970’s when the the trick first took the Magic World by storm! They are certainly much nicer than the myriad imported Hot Rods that are ubiquitous today. (Wow, I used “myriad” and “ubiquitous” in the same sentence — people will start to think I am Jon Racherbaumer!) THIS LISTING IS FOR TWO HOT RODS, and they match exactly except that you can use the second rod to repeat the trick with a different color. I have always thought the only drawback to this trick was when they say “Do it Again!”, and they usually say that. Well, you can do a quick switch and say “Okay, suppose you had chosen the Red gem instead of the Teal gem. Watch!” Jaws will really drop. This rod is about 3 inches long — it is very nice, with black lucite, no glue spots, not crooked gems, etc which are often seen in the cheapies being sold these days. NOTE: the deck of cards in the last photo is not needed for this trick, and is NOT included — just there so you can quickly see how long these rods are. The effect, if you do not know it: Show the Hot Rod to have six different color gems on both sides. One gem is chosen (by a process that is not very logical sometimes, depending on what number is named, but spectators forget about any illogicality after they see what happens next..). Suddenly all the gems on both sides change to the same color as the chosen gem! There were no instructions with these two rods, so I will include a photocopy of instructions from another manufacturer. The instructions do NOT detail how to switch rods, but I simply put the rod into my pocket, and then take out the other when they ask me to “Do it again!” Brand new, TWO Hot Rods. +++++++++++ ***** Yes, we will combine multiple eBay wins into a single shipment to help lower the overall shipping costs.
