Bristol Mold Blown & Floral w/Black Trim Painted Semi-Opaque White Glass Vase – Antique late 1800s. This 19th Century Art Glass was an estate find. The information I received (and researched) is as follows: This Bristol mold blown vase made of semi-opaque glass is quite colorful and decorative, and certainly functional. The glass is decorated with bright enamel florals and black pin stripe paint. It is considered Victorian Art Nouveau. The name Bristol refers to an area in England, where this type of glass was originally made. However, this glass was also made in France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, and in the United States – making it impossible to determine the origin of this piece. Typically, Bristol pieces that were not refired are now missing much of their original enameling. Because most of the enameling is still present on this piece, I must believe it was refired. This vase measures 7 7/8” tall x 5 5/8” in the middle diameter and 3 ½” diameter at the base. It weighs 1.10 lbs. prior to packing. Considering its age, this vase is in very good condition. There are flea bites to the rim and you will find minimal faded or missing enamel. This item will be insured at the time of shipment.
