A limited hand-signed edition, this originally was offered for sale at the Lyons Wier Gallery and the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, both in New York City, for $750.00. Currently, two of these are offered for sale elsewhere in the United States – one for $850.00, and the other for $1,000.00. Not shown, but included, is a clear protective storage bag with a zippered flap. This is COOL with a capital “C”! Her Bioart works have aroused strong responses and have been a basis for discussions of the body, art, and ethics. Conant created the Chrissy Homeland Security Blanket in March 2003. Described as a “three-part sculptural project”, she incorporated the U.S. Department of Homeland Security terms for levels of threat, “severe,” “high,” “elevated,” “guarded,” and “low” to make colorful chokers, blankets, and wall hangings.
