15 Maxell XLII High Bias Cassette Tapes. Used, in Good Condition. Selling the last of my personal collection of Maxell XLII cassette tapes. As a dedicated home-taping enthusiast for a number of decades, I’ve tried cassette tapes from a number of different manufacturers, and Maxell XLII’s were far and away the best quality for a reasonable cost. Note 4 of these tapes are premium XLII-S. • This set is 15 cassettes in a 15 capacity hard plastic case (the exterior case has seen better days and has some cracks, but is still structurally sound; genuine faux wood veneer top;-) • Contains three different models of Maxell XLII cassettes, as follows: — 4 Maxell XLII-S 90 min. This is a high-end, premium tape, and the best tapes I ever used — sounded fantastic, and enclosed in a heavy, Darth Vader-esque matte black shell. (Uses the same high-bias setting, just ‘super-premium magnetic particles’ on the tape.) — 6 Maxell XLII 90 min. These have the bronze-colored inserts, with a nice, rounded case. The shell has a small rectangular window. — 3 Maxell XLII 90 min. These have the grey inserts and a nice, rounded case. The shell has a large window with a graphic of the classic ‘guy getting blown away by his music and spilling his martini’ image from their ad campaign. — 2 same as above, but 100 min. length, for those pesky recordings that run long • I’m the original and only owner of these tapes; they have always been kept in living areas, never stored in basement or attic • Tapes are clean & well-cared for; non-smoking home • Tapes are used and have recordings on them; being sold as blanks for re-recording. All tabs are in place. There may be a few adhesive labels for the shells tucked in the inserts, but no guarantees. • My general modus operandi was to buy a case of tapes and make recordings; there was not usually much erasing & rerecording done (I don’t know if that makes a difference, but putting it out there.) These were purchased toward the end of my run as a tapehead, and as such saw pretty light use, tbh. • The alphabet coding labels seen on the box and tape cases was for my cataloging purposes; the tapes will have the same design/style in the groups as noted above, and are roughly the same vintage but may not be from exactly the same case • The coding labels seem to be pretty much permanently on there, sorry (Avery labels, fyi) • Made in Japan • Free shipping Thanks for stopping by AdamzAttic
